Maximilian Freiherr Lochner von Hüttenbach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maximilian Freiherr Lochner von Hüttenbach (born September 16, 1859 in Regensburg ; † June 30, 1942 in Lindau in Lake Constance ) was a farmer and forest manager and since 1932 an honorary citizen of the municipality of Elten (now part of Emmerich am Rhein ).

Life

Maximilian Freiherr Lochner von Hüttenbach was the son of the Royal Bavarian Chamberlain and postal clerk Anselm Freiherr Lochner von Hüttenbach (1831–1910) and his wife Sophie (1834–1902), born von Schlägel, daughter of the Bavarian Major General Maximilian von Schlägel . His younger brother was the local historian and writer Oskar Freiherr Lochner von Hüttenbach (1868–1920).

With the acquisition of the Marsweide from the family estate of his wife, which passed into community ownership, Max Lochner von Hüttenbach made it possible for the city to purchase important land for the waterworks and other systems, as well as financing to improve the roads. The expansion of Beekerstrasse, its elevation to Zollstrasse and the construction of the power station are also due to his initiative . For the further development of the district, he made land available for the construction of 16 apartments for the “customs colony”.

Von Hüttenbach left several art historical and other historical writings from his private archive to the community archive and also wrote several larger treatises himself on the history of the Eltenberg and its church, but also on various historical events on Lake Constance. In Lindau he represented the Kingdom of Bavaria on the board of the Association for the History of Lake Constance and its surroundings .
