Max Lakitsch

Max Lakitsch (born December 31, 1927 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Max Lakitsch first attended elementary school before he was recruited by the Wehrmacht and had to do Reich labor service in Poland while he was attending the secondary school . During the course of the war he served in the Navy and got into Schleswig-Holstein briefly in Allied captivity .

In 1946, after his return to Austria, Lakitsch passed the Matura . He broke off his studies as a student trainee at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna .

In 1950 Lakitsch became secretary of the SPÖ-affiliated working group for sport and physical culture, initially in Lower Austria, and one year later, after moving there, also in Upper Austria . In 1958, Lakitsch found work at the municipal authorities of the Upper Austrian capital Linz , where he worked in the social department until 1987. Most recently, Lakitsch was head of the welfare office. In the magistrate, Lakitsch also distinguished himself as a trade unionist .

In addition to his main job, he was also a freelance sports journalist for both the press and radio .

Lakitsch held his first political mandate from 1974 when he moved into the Upper Austrian Landtag as a member of the Social Democrats . It was initially until 1979. From October 1982 to April 1983 Lakitsch was a member of the Austrian Federal Council in Vienna . Most recently, he was sworn in again in 1987 as a member of the state parliament in Upper Austria. In 1991 he left the state parliament again.
