Maximilian "Max" Sandritter (born February 24, 1989 in Munich ) is a German automobile racing driver . He competed in the ADAC GT Masters from 2012 to 2014 .

Career

Sandritter received a test drive in a racing car from his father for his 18th birthday. As he was convincing, he began his motorsport career in touring car racing in 2008 . He drove in the ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup and finished his debut season as the best newcomer in eighth place. In 2009 Sandritter stayed in this championship. He won four out of nine races and was on the podium six times. In the driver standings, he improved to second place. In 2010 Sandritter switched to the German Seat Leon Supercopa . With a podium finish, he finished the season in eleventh place overall. In 2011 Sandritter started another year in the German Seat Leon Supercopa. He achieved three podium finishes and reached eighth place overall. In 2010 and 2011 he was part of the Deutsche Post Speed ​​Academy's sponsorship team .

In 2012 Sandritter switched to GT racing and was given a cockpit at Yako Racing in the ADAC GT Masters . Sandritter remained without points and an 18th place was his best individual result. In addition, he was registered for two races in the FIA GT3 European Championship , but did not start because the vehicle had suffered a technical defect during training. 2013 Sandritter contested his second season in the ADAC GT Masters for the Pixum Team Schubert . He shared the car with Jörg Müller , who was represented by Jens Klingmann at an event . Sandritter won a race at the Sachsenring together with Klingmann . With two further podium finishes, he was 13th in the drivers' championship. In 2014 Sandritter and Klingmann formed a driver duo throughout. A second place on the Slovakiaring was the best result of the two. Together with Klingmann, he was ninth at the end of the season. Sandritter also took part in races in the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring in 2013 and 2014 .

Personal

Sandritter is a son of the entrepreneur Jochen Schweizer . He has completed his training as a car mechatronics technician and has a professional helicopter pilot license.
