Maximilian von Garnier (politician)

Maximilian Joseph Rudolf Franz Johannes von Garnier (born May 13, 1844 in Gleiwitz , Upper Silesia , † January 5, 1888 in Grottkau , Upper Silesia) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

He came from a family originally resident in Mont Saxonnet near Cluses ( France ) and was the son of the lawyer and notary Rudolf von Garnier (1813–1861) and Anna von Jarotzky (1822–1898). Garnier studied law at the University of Breslau and became a member of the Corps Silesia there in 1864 . He later moved to the University of Berlin , where he became a member of the Corps Neoborussia .

After successfully completing his studies, he was a trainee lawyer in Ratibor . In 1879 he became district administrator for the Grottkau district and remained in this position until his death in 1888. He ran unsuccessfully for the Prussian House of Representatives .

Garnier married on August 2, 1882 at Gut Falkenau (Grottkau district) Dr. phil. Katharina Moewes (born April 28, 1863 in Berlin ; † November 23, 1936 in Bad Kösen ), the daughter of Carl Moewes, landlord on Falkenau, and Luise Neuber.
