Maximilian von Rampusch

Maximilian von Rampusch (* 1665 in Breslau ; † January 9, 1743 ibid) was a royal Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 43 and knight of the Pour le Mérite .

He was born in Wroclaw . His parents were Joachim von Rampusch (1598–1671) and his third wife Anna Dorothea Assmann . The imperial councilor Zacharias von Rampusch (1632–1697) was his brother.

He was a colonel there when the city became part of the State of Prussia in 1741 . He was the commander and overseer of the fortress there. King Friedrich II appointed him major general and gave him the former city guard to turn it into the 43rd Infantry Regiment (Count von Anhalt). He also received the Pour le Mérite on March 6, 1741. He died two years later on January 9, 1743.

He was a veteran soldier and had already participated in the War of the Spanish Succession . He was seriously injured in the battle of Peterwardein (August 5, 1716) and retired as captain of the Alt-Daun infantry regiment (but received the character of a lieutenant colonel on August 16, 1719). In 1725 he was appointed a Bohemian baron and von Rampusch and Rommenstein .
