Maximilian Graf zu Erbach-Schönberg (born April 7, 1787 in Zwingenberg , † June 1, 1823 in Schönberg near Bensheim ) was a German nobleman and member of the Erbach family .

Maximilian Graf zu Erbach-Schönberg was the son of Gustav Ernst zu Erbach-Schönberg (1739-1812) and his wife Henriette nee Countess zu Stolberg-Stolberg (1753-1816), the daughter of Christoph Ludwig II. Count von Stolberg-Stolberg . Maximilian married on July 25, 1815 in Utphe Ferdinande Sophie Charlotte Friederike, born Countess zu Solms-Rödelheim and Assenheim (1793-1859), the daughter of Volrath Friedrich Carl Ludwig Graf zu Solms-Rödelheim and Assenheim . A daughter, Mathilde, emerged from the marriage.

Life

Maximilian zu Erbach-Schönberg studied camera science from 1806 at the University of Heidelberg and from 1811 at the University of Göttingen . In 1813 he fought as Rittmeister in the Prussian army against France. After the death of his father in 1816, he took over the class rule. Associated with this was from 1820 a mandate in the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . Because of his illness, he was unable to take part in the deliberations of the Chamber. After his death, his brother Emil inherited the class rule.
