The municipality ( Local Municipality ) Mbhashe (until July 16, 2004 Mbashe ) is part of the Amathole District , Eastern Cape Province in South Africa . 254,909 inhabitants live in an area of ​​3,050 km² (as of 2011). The seat of the municipal administration is Dutywa .
