The McPherson Peak is a 2200 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Sentinel Range in the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises on the western flank of the head end of the Remington Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1957 to 1959. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1961 after William C. McPherson Jr., radio operator at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Year 1958.
