Christopher Evans (Author)
Christopher D. Evans (born 1951 in Tredegar , South Wales ) is a British science fiction writer.
Life
From 1969 to 1973 Evans studied at Cardiff University and from 1973 to 1974 at Swansea University . In 1980, he published his first novel, Capella's Golden Eyes, about an alien race-ruled planet with a human colony.
In connection with the controversy about the presence of Scientology at Worldcon 1987, he was editor of the essay volume Conspiracy Theories , in which various SF authors commented on the events. Evans' 2014 novel Future Perfect , which is about conspiracy, the SF fandom and a dead, apparently clairvoyant SF author whose lost works are accordingly sought. Involved in the search is a "church" founded by another author, which has similarities with the Church of Scientology .
Together with Robert Holdstock, he edited the anthology series Other Edens from 1987 to 1989 .
In 1994 Evans received the British SF Association Award for his Alternate History novel Aztec Century .
Evans lives in south London, where he teaches in a secondary school.
