Mchy (German Emchen ) is a village belonging to the municipality of Książ Wielkopolski in Poland in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in the Powiat Śremski .

The population of Mchy is 710 people. In the vicinity of the place are Kołacin , Chwałkowo Kościelne and Książ Wielkopolski .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1258. Mchy had town charter between 1458 and 1510 .

The Church of Saint Martin in Mchy
  • Church of St. Martin , late renaissance church from 1575 to 1616 with high baroque tower with clock. In the interior are the late Renaissance tombstone Stanisław and Katharina Sapińscys from 1588 and the chapel, consecrated in 1977 to Archbishop Posens Antoni Baraniak (1904–1977), née. in Sebastianowo, a neighboring village.
  • 18th century palace with portico with columns; In the round salon there is a stucco decoration made by Michał Ceptowicz in 1792.
  • Three chapels with the baroque figure of Saint Wawrzyniec, with the bas-relief of Saint John Nepomucens from the 18th century and Saint Barbara.
