Mechtild Böger's “sieves” are a form of ready-made , consisting of small commercially available metal sieves that are covered with filigree printed wafers . The artist finds the motifs in print media.

In order to visualize eating habits, Böger prints tablecloths in the style of potato printing and uses food directly as a stamp. The shapes of the vegetables, meat, cheese or fruits are easily recognizable and are lined up in series or form a still life. Mechtild Böger uses parts of pigs as printing blocks for her “pig prints” . Heads, ears or paws prepared as stamps are printed in color on the image carrier and achieve an aesthetic effect through this abstraction process. Other works by Böger are the "Knüpferlis". Using a plug-in game from the Dusyma company, the artist creates numerous knot, bend and combination options and creates emblematic sculptures , from simple shapes to fantastic animals to life-size swimwear or a 2.60 meter long boat made up of around 3,000 plug-in modules .

With your wire figures, the shape is created in the process, the first bends and twists of the wire determine the further course.

Works by the artist are in the fund of the Kunsthalle Bremen and in the East Frisian State Museum Emden. Her work "Grail Guardian of the Elements" was purchased by the Bremen Senate. In 2005 Mechtild Böger designed the Bremen Film Prize .

Böger lives in Bremen.
