Medigreif group of companies
The Medigreif group of companies , headquartered in Greifswald, provides services in the fields of education as well as health and social care. Medigreif was founded by Dietmar Enderlein , who also acts as CEO. The headquarters in Greifswald are located on the premises of the Military Medical Section at the University of Greifswald, which was dissolved at the end of 1990 .
The association, which was founded as a GmbH in March 1990 and comprises 23 companies with business activities at 18 locations, included four hospitals and two medical care centers in Saxony-Anhalt as well as a hospital and five rehabilitation clinics in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , medical specialist houses in various cities and also in Greifswald a health and social center, a vocational school and a private high school , a senior citizens' home , a health sports and wellness center and a hotel . In 2010, Rhön-Klinikum AG acquired 94% of the shares in the Medigreif subsidiary BKIG, which is active in Saxony-Anhalt, and which were sold on to Helios Kliniken in 2014 .
The total number of employees in all of the companies in the group was around 1850 in 2007, and the proceeds amounted to around 146 million euros .
