Meenakshi Thapar

Meenakshi Thapar (* 4. October 1984 in Dehradun , † 6. April 2012 in Gorakhpur ) was an Indian Bollywood - Actress .

Life

Thapar started her acting career in 2011 with the Hindi horror film 404 . Her second and last leading role was in the drama Heroine .

death

In April 2012 Thapar was kidnapped by her fellow actors Amit Jaiswal and his girlfriend Preeti Surin while filming Heroine . The two asked for a ransom of 1.5 million rupees (about 22,000 euros ). They reportedly threatened the mother with forcing her daughter to take pornographic pictures if she did not pay the ransom. However, her mother was only able to raise 60,000 rupees (the equivalent of 890.90 €). After this failed ransom demand, Thapar was strangled and beheaded in a hotel in Gorakhpur . Her body was reportedly dismembered and placed in a water tank. Her head was thrown from a moving bus. The perpetrators were identified using the geodata on the victim's SIM card .
