Meester class 2016/17
The 94th Dutch team championship in chess was played in the Meester class 2016/17 . Master was Kennemer Combinatie , while the defending champion En Passant Bunschoten had to settle for eighth place. Groninger Combinatie and MuConsult Apeldoorn had moved up from class 1 in the previous year . Both newcomers achieved relegation, while Charlois Europoort and HWP Sas van Gent had to relegate.

Game dates
The competitions were held on September 17, October 8, November 5 and 26, December 17, 2016, February 4, March 11, April 1 and May 6, 2017, with two third-round competitions due to the Overlap with the European Club Cup was played on October 29th. The last round was played centrally in Bunschoten , the other competitions were held locally at the clubs involved.
