base

The milestone at Garsena is a small monument in the town of Könnern in the Salzland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The Prussian Staatschaussee from Magdeburg via Halle (Saale) to Großkugel on the border with Saxony was created in the years 1788 to 1801. The milestones in the section south of Anhalt-Bernburg can all be dated to the year 1800, because in this the postal route is officially on the new route has been laid. Obelisks and cubes stood along the way . South of Garsena, the 8th mile was reached from Magdeburg, so that a full mile obelisk was set up. Today the base and base are preserved, the obelisk itself is missing. A fate that he shares with the whole milestone of Trebitz .

A Prussian mile corresponds to 7.532 kilometers. So here we are 60.2 kilometers from Magdeburg. The former obelisk is a listed building and has been included in the monument register with registration number 094 60214. Complete all-mile obelisks along the former federal road 6 , now state road 50 , can still be found in Grube Ferdinande and Nauendorf . The former inscription 22.5 , i.e. the kilometer indication to Halle, is no longer recognizable today because the stone has weathered. The Garsena Chausseehaus is nearby .
