The milestone in Könnern is a small monument in the town of Könnern in the Salzland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

A Prussian milestone from around 1800 is located in the Halleschen Strasse in the south of Könnern. Here at Landesstrasse 50 , formerly part of Bundesstrasse 6 , it bears witness to the past, because the road was built as a Prussian state office between Magdeburg , Halle (Saale) and Großkugel , at that time the last place before the border to Saxony . This major project lasted from 1788 to 1801, whereby the section south of Anhalt was only equipped with milestones when it was completed and thus a little later than the northern area.

The quarter mile cube has four raised ovals and stood at an angle at the end of the 1990s, but was re-erected in 2001 and provided with a concrete foundation. It also has a measuring point. It is under monument protection , since all milestones in Saxony-Anhalt are protected, but is not listed in the monument register. In the literature it is sometimes given as Stein Golbitz or Garsena due to its proximity to the places , but it is in the hallway of experts and here in the position 7 3/4 miles from Magdeburg, which corresponds to 58.3 kilometers. A similar quarter-mile cube can be found at Lettewitz , but their existence is much more threatened than the obelisks because they are often overlooked. The quarter milestones in Halle-Trotha and Morl were lost in the 1990s.
