The milestone near Kochstedt is a small monument in the independent city of Dessau-Roßlau in Saxony-Anhalt .

In addition to the important east-west connection through Anhalt from Dessau via Köthen (Anhalt) and Bernburg (Saale) to the Harz Mountains, there were also other routes that were marked with milestones . Just a little further to the south-west a road led to Quellendorf . This route was later expanded and two routes led from Quellendorf, both of which had a milestone. Unfortunately, only one other milestone has been preserved here, namely the II miles to Dessau- Stein , which is located at Quellendorf. The other one, which was on the Quellendorf – Storkau road, was destroyed and its remains were stored.

The first milestone of this route is near Kochstedt , today part of the city of Dessau. It is located 1 mile from Dessau , more precisely from the Leopold monument on the Schlossplatz in Dessau, and is 82 centimeters high. The Anhalt mile corresponded to the Prussian mile , i.e. it was 7.532 kilometers long. The round base stone is a listed building and was restored in 2000. The whole milestone is on the road from Kochstedt to Quellendorf about 350 meters southwest of the town exit on the northwest side of the road. It is listed in the monument register with registration number 094 40933.
