history

An important connecting road ran from Luckau to Spremberg via Calau . The road section from Zinnitz to Calau was completed on September 1, 1864. In the course of this a milestone was set in 1865 between Buckow and Bathow. The creation of the milestone took about 3 days.

In World War II, the milestone was of major Jehser, unlike many other milestone, a few bullet holes. The milestone must have been knocked over by the Soviet armed forces in 1979/80. It was partially destroyed in the process. This is evidenced by repair work with a copper pen and filling compound.

On December 9, 2005, the milestone was removed from its location and moved to Calau. It was stored there until it underwent a thorough renovation in Lübben in mid-2016 . Cracks that had formed in the milestone had to be repaired. During the renovation of the milestone, the stone was stabilized with stainless steel dowels and repaired with stone substitute compound. The restoration costs of the milestone were around 500 euros . After the restoration of the stone, it was reinstalled in its original location at Landstrasse 52.
