Mein Gott und Walter is a filmic faith course that offers a “ theological introduction to the teaching of the Catholic Church ”. The 24 episodes are each about 15 minutes long and each deals with a faith topic, the sequence is based on the Apostles' Creed . The publisher is the Liechtenstein- based association kathmedia .
An accompanying booklet contains tasks and further information on the topics of the individual episodes. This is intended to make Mein Gott und Walter particularly suitable for religious instruction , firm catechism , youth groups, prayer groups and faith courses and encourage further thinking, with reference being made to the catechism of the Catholic Church and the Youcat youth catechism .
Originally the film was announced under the title querens ( Latin for "seeking").
The required production volume was determined through pre-orders, as the non-profit project does not cause any unnecessary costs, but all volume discounts in production should also be passed on to the buyers. Up to April 15, 2011, pre-orders for 12,000 DVD boxes were received for this edition. A few weeks after it was published, the first edition was already sold out, so that a second edition was produced on September 12, 2011.
In addition to English dubbing , subtitles in various other language editions are planned.
In November 2011, a continuation and addition was announced under the title Oh my God , which will also deal with over 50 theological topics in 11 subject areas in film form.
