Johannes Maria Schwarz

Johannes Maria Schwarz (* 1978 ) is an Austrian priest from the Archdiocese of Vaduz . He is known for his evangelization projects on the internet.

Life

Schwarz grew up near Linz . He attended a natural science high school in Auhof. After a year abroad in Sydney , Australia , he went to an artistic high school in Linz . After graduating from high school , he studied gaming theology at the International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in the Austrian Charterhouse . During his studies he worked for the Catholic internet newspaper Kath.net . He completed his studies with a degree from the Facoltà di Teologia di Lugano . At the same time he was in the San Carlo seminary in Lugano. He was ordained a deacon in 2003 and a priest in 2004 . In the following two years he did his doctorate with Manfred Hauke in Lugano. In 2004 he was appointed chaplain of the parish St. Josef in Triesenberg and remained so until 2013. In 2007 he began to give lectures at the International Theological Institute in Gaming and Trumau . On May 1, 2013, he set out on a foot pilgrimage to Jerusalem and returned to Liechtenstein on August 2, 2014. In September 2014 he was appointed Vice Director of the Leopoldinum Seminary in Heiligenkreuz . In 2016 he was released for three years for catechetical media work. During this time, the 72-part cartoon series “3 Minute Catechism” appeared in 10 languages.

In 2011 he developed the series Mein Gott und Walter .
