Meinhard Durnwalder (born December 12, 1976 in Bruneck ) is a German-speaking Italian politician from South Tyrol . The lawyer is a member of the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP).

biography

The nephew of former South Tyrolean provincial governor Luis Durnwalder graduated from the Universities of Innsbruck and Padua jointly offered "Integrated Diploma in Law ". He completed this in 2002 with a thesis on the effects of the Italian constitutional reform of 2001 on the autonomy of South Tyrol . In 2005 he opened a law firm in Bolzano .

In 2010 Durnwalder became active in local politics in his home municipality of Pfalzen . There he represented the South Tyrolean People's Party in the local council and acted as a councilor until 2015. In 2014 he took over the chairmanship of the SVP Pustertal district . In the Italian parliamentary elections in 2018 , he moved into the Senate with 66.5% of the votes in the single constituency of Bressanone .
