Meinholz is a district of the municipality Wietzendorf in the district of Heidekreis , Lower Saxony .

Meinholz is located in the Lüneburg Heath north of Wietzendorf.
history
In 1658, a row school was set up in the village, as in the neighboring towns . In 1787 the parishes of Meinholz and Suroide received their own schoolhouse , which was built between the two villages. In August 1967 the school was closed. The students have been attending classes in Wietzendorf since then.
After the Second World War , a memorial was erected at the prisoner-of-war cemetery near Meinholz . Around 16,000 Soviet prisoners of war rest there in mass graves .
On March 1, 1974 Meinholz was incorporated into the Wietzendorf community.
