founding

The initiator of the cooperation was the Federal Garden Show 2011 GmbH of the city of Koblenz. As early as the spring of 2010, the Bundesgartenschau 2011 GmbH selected twelve tourist attractions in the immediate vicinity with which they wanted to carry out comprehensive tourist marketing for the region in partnership. Under the name “Masterpieces of the Region”, twelve of the 13 sights on the grounds of the Federal Horticultural Show were particularly honored, and the 2011 Federal Horticultural Show was the 13th partner in the joint advertising campaign.

The common goal of all actors was to clearly highlight the tourist potential and sights of the entire region. Coordinated events and marketing measures were intended to encourage visitors to BUGA 2011 in Koblenz to visit the region extensively, and guests in the Rhine-Moselle region to visit BUGA 2011 in Koblenz.

After the BUGA 2011 in Koblenz, the cooperation partners drew a positive balance and have been cooperating since 2012 under the new name "Masterpieces between the Rhine and Moselle".

The number of masterpieces has meanwhile grown to 15. Even if the partners reserve the right to include further masterpieces, a strong selection can be assumed.
