The Melbourne constituency is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It is located in Melbourne in the state of Victoria and was founded in 1900. It is one of the first 75 constituencies in Australia.

In addition to Melbourne City , the constituency also includes Abbotsford , Ascot Vale , Carlton , Clifton Hill , Collingwood , Docklands , North Melbourne , West Melbourne , East Melbourne , Fitzroy , Fitzroy North , Flemington , Kensington , Parkville and Richmond . Adam Bandt of the Australian Greens Party has been the incumbent MP for the constituency since 2010 .
