Melody B. Choi

Melody B. Choi (mostly just Melody Choi ; * 2001 in Canada ) is a Canadian actress of Chinese descent. In 2011 she received a Young Artist Award and was nominated in two other categories.

life and career

Melody Choi, born in Canada in 2001 to parents of Chinese origin, began her television career around 2006 when she first appeared in commercials. She worked for the Honda group, among others , but was often booked for advertising shoots by toy manufacturers. She was in front of the camera for Fisher-Price and Mattel , among others , but in 2009 she also appeared for the gourmet restaurant chain Lawry’s . From 2006 to 2007 she was featured in the Kids' CBC commercial on CBC Television . In addition to numerous assignments in 2010, including for Kellogg’s, made her last appearance in a commercial with the internationally sold game UNO Attack in 2011. Her actual acting career in film and television began around 2009. That year she was seen in a significant production for the first time, whereby she appeared in an episode of the FBI's Fringe Borderline cases in this case . She was finally able to book further appearances in the following year 2010, where she was seen in a supporting role in Gunless . This year she also played the role of judge Jenny , a leading role, in the 15-minute short film Kid's Court . She was able to record a further use in the film Santa Pfotes Big Christmas Adventure, also released in 2010 , where she again appeared in an important supporting role. At the Winter Paralympics 2010 in Vancouver , the young up-and-coming actress could be heard or seen as a speaker at the opening ceremony. In 2011, Melody Choi was finally recognized for her film roles from 2010. For her engagement in Kid's Court she was nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category "Best Performance in a Short Film - Young Actress" and was able to win in the category "Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special - Supporting Young Actress" another nomination for her role as little Mary in Santa Paw's Big Christmas Adventure. For her supporting role as Adell in Gunless , she received a Young Artist Award in the category “Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Actress Age Ten or Under” at the awards ceremony in Studio City , a special award for her hard work in 2009 and 2010.
