The Menší Vltavice , also Hamerský potok (German Dürnaubach , Dirnauer Bach or Little Moldau ) is a right tributary of the Moldau / Vltava in the Czech Republic and Austria .
course
The Dürnaubach rises on the northern slope of the Sternstein (1125 m above sea level) in the Mühlviertel in Austria on the European main watershed between the Elbe and the Danube . In its upper reaches, the Dürnaubach flows east past the Hirschberg (920 m above sea level) and through the village of Dürnau . Between the Kamenná (937 m nm) and the Jezevčí vrch ( roof hill , 983 m nm) and the Hvězdná (1012 m nm) the brook flows into Czech territory after two kilometers. This is followed on both sides of its valley by the deserted Frantoly ( Frauenthal ) and the places Mnichovice ( Minichschlag ) and Martínkov ( Martetschlag ). Then the Menší Vltavice breaks through the mountains in a narrow valley between the Uhlířský vrch (924 m nm), the Brod (893 m nm), the Vyklestilka (887 m nm) and the Martínkovský vrch ( Martinsberg ). To the southeast of the Pošlák ( Poschlag ) desert , the brook forms the Vodopády svatého Wolfganga ( St. Wolfgang Falls ). The lower reaches of the Menší Vltavice leads past Kozinec ( Gaishof ) to Vyšší Brod , where the stream flows east of the monastery and finally flows into the Vltava after eight kilometers.
From the Menší Vltavice at Kozinec the Opatský kanál branches off to supply water to the Vyšší Brod monastery .
