Menhir de la Limouzinière

The Menhir de la Limouzinière is located on the outskirts of Chauché , northeast of La Roche-sur-Yon in a loop of the La Petit Maine river in the Vendée department in France .

The menhir made of gray sandstone is about 2.5 m high. The property on which it stands east of the river is called “Champ-aux-Pierres” ( German  “Field of Stones” ) and a nearby farm is called “La Pierre” ( German  “The Stones” ). Cut stone axes were collected in the neighboring “Champ des Vieilleries” and are kept in the Dobrée Museum in Nantes .
