Meno Nicolaus Carstens

Meno Nicolaus Carstens (born June 20, 1701 in Lübeck ; † May 11, 1757 ibid) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and chief pastor at Lübeck Cathedral .

Life

Meno Nicolaus Carstens was a son of Joachim Hinrich Carstens (1666–1733), pastor at St. Aegidien in Lübeck . After visiting the Katharineum in Lübeck , he studied Protestant theology at the University of Wittenberg , where he is proven to be a respondent under the chairmanship of Gottlieb Wernsdorf the Elder in 1723 .

In 1731 he was appointed preacher at Lübeck Cathedral and in 1752 chief pastor.

On October 7, 1732, he married Catharina, b. Tesdorpf. Of the couple's sons, Christian Nicolaus Carstens (1736–1819) became a lawyer in Lübeck, Johann Heinrich Carstens (1738–1829) a theologian and senior in Lübeck and Peter Heinrich Carstens (1739–1814) a lawyer and clerk in the Bergedorf office .

Johann Henrich von Seelen wrote him a funeral document.
