Meridian is a city in Ada County in the US state of Idaho . With just under 100,000 inhabitants, it is the second largest city in Idaho after Boise .

geography

The city is located in the west of the state between the cities of Boise and Nampa , from which it is each approximately 14 kilometers away. Interstate 84 runs through the south of the city and is part of US 30 , which runs from coast to coast. To the north, the Boise River flows west to its confluence with the Snake River on the Oregon border .

population

Meridian has seen very rapid population growth over the past few decades and is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. In 1970, 2616 people lived here, almost 50 years later there are around 100,000 inhabitants.
