Merikare ( Meri-ka-Re ) was an ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 10th Dynasty ( First Intermediate Period ).

Domination

The throne name is only partially preserved in the Royal Papyrus Turin and the proper name is completely missing. The king is known through texts on the interpretation of dreams and the " Teaching for Merikare ", in which his father Jürgen von Beckerath conquered and settled the eastern delta .

Vessel lids and a pens' palette with his name on it were also found. His pyramid was probably in Saqqara , but is no longer archaeologically verifiable. His cult of the dead is well documented on the basis of titles held by officials who worked on his pyramid and seems to have continued into the Middle Kingdom . The pyramid itself is unknown. According to Farouk Gomaá Antef II. And Antef III. , so this ruler belongs to the end of the 10th dynasty.
