Merita is a small, residential area in the Far North District of Northland on the North Island of New Zealand .

geography

The settlement is located around 25 km northeast of Awanui in the northeast part of the Karikari Peninsula . The northwestern bay Karikari Moana and the southern Doubtless Bay are only a few kilometers from the settlement. The settlement is only connected to the road system of the New Zealand State Highways via the New Zealand State Highway 10, which is just under 20 kilometers south .
