Merrifield Gut is a so-called ghaut ( gut ), an ephemeral body of water similar to a Fiumara , on St. Kitts , in the Caribbean island state of St. Kitts and Nevis .

geography

The river has its source south of St. Kitts, on the southern slope of Verchild's Peak . It runs steeply to the south and soon flows into the Caribbean Sea at Saint Joseph Church in Old Road Town , very close to the mouth of the neighboring Church Gut .
