The Krasnoyarsk Metro in in Siberia located Russian city of Krasnoyarsk was between 1993 and 2008 construction, but has not been completed. This metro would be the third Siberian metro alongside the Novosibirsk metro, which is currently in operation and the Omsk metro, which is also under construction . During the construction of the metro, shield tunneling was used for underground construction.

history

Between 1994 and 2008, the work focused on the section Vysotnaya - Kopylova - Voksalnaya (Высотная - Копылова - Вокзальная), which is to connect the station with the city district to the northwest. Construction work has already begun at another two stations east of the station - Ploshchad Revolyuzii (Площадь Революции) and Prospekt Mira (Проспект Мира), both in the city center. In total, however, only 3,500 meters of tunneling were achieved in these years, including three kilometers of tunnel.

For financial reasons, the work has been suspended since 2008, the construction site has been conserved (Vysotnaya - Kopylova - Voksalnaya) or abandoned (Ploshchad Revoljuzii - Prospekt Mira). The construction shafts can be seen in several places in the city, but significant parts of the surface facilities were removed in 2011 (including at the train station).

The opening of the first section (five kilometers) was planned for 2002, the expansion to the east should follow at the end of 2003. Since the work has been suspended for years, it is not possible to make any statements about a possible opening. Occasional promises to continue the construction work or to finance it from federal funds were not followed by any real work until mid-2013.
