The L3 is a metro line of the Barcelona Metro .

The line has 26 stations, all of which are in the tunnel. The route length is 17.8 kilometers. The line runs from the Zona Universitària station, in the western district of Les Corts , through the city center to the northern district of Nou Barris . Because of its color in the network of lines, it is also known as "Línia verda" ("Green Line").

history

The first section of the line was opened in 1924 (between the stations of Catalunya and Lesseps). Every year around 80.8 million passengers (as of 2016) use the air-conditioned L3 coaches, which makes them the third most frequented line in the metro network. A trip from end point to end point takes about 30 minutes.
