The Mißgunstmühle was a former iron hammer in the district of Wrexen in the north Hessian town of Diemelstadt .

Geographical location

The hammer was about 210 meters above sea ​​level on the Orpe , west of Wrexen.

history

The iron hammer with two fires was built around 1680/81 and operated as a blacksmith's shop until the middle of the 18th century. From 1863 the paper and cardboard factory CD Haupt was operated at the same location by two, then only one turbine until 1963.

In 1990 the CD main paper and cardboard factory was taken over by the Irish group "Jefferson Smurfit", which merged with "Kappa Packaging" to form the " Smurfit Kappa Group " in 2005 and still operates the plant today. "Smurfit Kappa Wrexen Paper & Board" produces around 240,000 tons of paper and 80,000 tons of graphic cardboard per year at the Wrexen location with around 300 employees on two paper machines.
