Miah Davis

Jeremiah "Miah" William Davis (born February 12, 1981 ) is an American basketball player .

The two-time all-star in the first Polish league will be moving to Telekom Baskets Bonn in Germany for the 2007/2008 season . Davis signed a contract there for a year. Before that, he went basket hunting for Energa Czarni Slupsk for two years. For his achievements he was appointed to the Allstar Team of the first Polish league in 2006 and 2007. In 2006 he was also a member of the “All Defense Team of the Year”.

He spent his college years at the University of the Pacific at Stockton. In 2004 he was voted “Player of the Year” in the strong NCAA Big West Conference . After his time in college, he tried to recommend himself to the Los Angeles Clippers for the draft. However, this failed and so he was drawn to the NBA Development League for a short time . There he played for the Roanoke Dazzle. However, he was unable to assert himself there and finally moved to Poland in 2005. After a successful season in Bonn, which ended with the runner-up in 2008, Miah Davis moved back to Poland to Politechnica Poznań for the 2008/2009 season. There he led the promoted to relegation, but received no new contract for the 2009/2010 season. Therefore, Davis signed a contract for one year in Limassol in November 2009, with the local first division club EKA AEL Limassol. There he helped the club into the final to lead the championship there. For the 2010/2011 season he signed another contract in Cyprus. He joined APOEL Nicosia . There, however, his contract was terminated during the season. Davis then moved to Greece to Ilysiakos Athens . After a year in Greece, Davis played for the Leuven Bears in Belgium until 2012 . Davis returned to Germany for the 2012/2013 season and signed a contract with the New York Phantoms Braunschweig . There, his contract was terminated prematurely in February 2013 because Davis could not convince athletically as he had hoped.

Remarkable

In game three of the quarter-finals of the 2007/2008 German basketball championship against the Artland Dragons from Quakenbrück, Miah Davis managed a stroke of genius that was probably unforgettable for the fans. With 3.79 seconds remaining and one point behind, he achieved what is probably the most beautiful buzzer of his career with an extremely fast pull to the basket. Telekom Baskets Bonn won the away game in Artland with 77:76.
