The Miami Valley Sabers were an American ice hockey franchise of the All-American Hockey League based in Troy , Ohio .
history
The Miami Valley Sabers were formed in 1987 through the merger of the Dayton Jets and Troy Sabers from the All-American Hockey League . After a third place in the regular season in their premiere season , the Sabers won the championship of the AAHL in the 1988/89 season . When the league was dissolved after this season, the Miami Valley Sabers also stopped playing after just two years.
