The Port Huron Clippers were an American ice hockey franchise of the All-American Hockey League based in Port Huron , Michigan .
history
The Port Huron Clippers began playing in the All-American Hockey League as an expansion team for the 1987/88 season . In their only season, the team finished seventh and could only win nine of their 38 games. With fewer than one win in four games, the number of spectators was too low to be profitable, so the team management decided to stop playing after the premiere season.
The void the Clippers left in the city was finally filled in 1996 by the Port Huron Border Cats of the United Hockey League .
