Miceşti (formerly Chişfalău , German Kleindörfel , Hungarian Ompolykisfalud or Kisfalud ) is a village in Alba County in Romania . It is now part of the city of Alba Iulia .
location
Miceşti is located about four kilometers northwest of the city center of Alba Iulia, on the southeastern edge of the Trascău Mountains in western Transylvania .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1299. In 1968 it was incorporated into Alba Iulia.
population
Hungarian and some German residents initially lived in the village. By the 19th century at the latest, Miceşti had a Romanian majority of the population. In 1992, the then 1,420 inhabitants, with the exception of ten designated Gypsies and nine Hungary as Romanians .

Miceşti is located on the national road 74 from Alba Iulia to Brad . From the place buses run several times a day to Alba Iulia (as of 2008). Originally, the place was on the 1895 railway line Alba Iulia - Zlatna . When they switched to standard gauge in 1984, part of the line was relocated, so that since then the nearest train station has been around 3 km away in Ortard .
Attractions
There is a memorial to the Romanian victims of the First World War in the village .
