Michaël Ciani (born April 6, 1984 in Paris ) is a former French football player .

Club career

The defender began his professional career in 2005 with the then second division club CS Sedan . On August 5, 2006 he made his Ligue 1 debut for Lorient FC in the game against Paris Saint-Germain . In the following game against his current club, Girondins Bordeaux , he was sent off the field.

In 2009 Ciani moved to Bordeaux, where he played his first game in the UEFA Champions League on September 15, 2009 . The opponent was called Juventus Turin . Two weeks later he scored his first goal in the Champions League with the 1-0 winning goal against Maccabi Haifa , which he scored two more goals on October 21, 2009, one of which was an own goal in a 2-1 win against FC Bayern Munich , followed.

National team

In March 2010 he made his debut in the French national team when national coach Domenech called him up against Spain in the starting lineup.
