Michał Szromnik (born March 4, 1993 in Gdansk ) is a Polish football goalkeeper who last played for Dundee United .

Career

Michał Szromnik played in his youth in his hometown Gdansk for the local club Sportowy Gedania . He was active for the second largest soccer club from the Baltic Sea city after Lechia Gdańsk until he was sixteen. From 2009 Szromnik was in goal for the youth team of Arka Gdynia . Just one year after his signature at Arka , he was also part of the professional team for some games in the 2010/11 season. However, he made his debut for the Polish second division team in the 2011/12 season. After seven appearances, 14 games followed in the following season. In the 2013/14 season, Szromnik was able to fight for the regular place between the posts. In July 2014, the now 21-year-old Szromnik moved to the Scottish first division club Dundee United to be a substitute goalkeeper behind his compatriot Radosław Cierzniak . He made his debut for United in February 2015 in a league game against FC St. Johnstone . In the second game, three days later against Inverness Caledonian Thistle , he was thrown off the pitch with a red card. By the end of the 2014/15 season , Szromnik played two more times for United under coach Jackie McNamara . He was second goalkeeper in the 2015/16 season .
