Michael A. Carter

Michael A. Carter (* before 1984; † 2004 ) was a sound engineer .

Life

Carter began his career in the mid-1980s, making his film debut in 1984 with the comedy Oxford Blues - Help the Americans Come . His second film was David Lean's Journey to India , for which he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Sound at the 1985 Academy Awards, along with Graham V. Hartstone , Nicolas Le Messurier and John W. Mitchell . For his sixth film, James Cameron's Aliens - The Return , he was nominated for a second Oscar in 1987 , again with Hartstone and Le Messurier and with Roy Charman . Between 1982 and 1999 Carter worked on 24 joint films with Graham V. Hartstone.

Carter has worked in three films in the James Bond franchise, and also starred in the 30th and final film in the Carry-On franchise , Do It Again Columbus . After working exclusively on feature films, he worked on the 2003 animated series Popetown . The controversial television series was not broadcast until years later after protests by the Catholic Church; Carter had died in the meantime.
