Michael Böhnke (theologian)

Michael Böhnke (born November 8, 1955 in Ratingen ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1974 to 1979 Böhnke studied Catholic theology , philosophy and modern history at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen . In 1979 he became a research assistant at the dogmatic seminar at Bonn University for three years . From 1981 to 1983 he was a part-time lecturer in dogmatics and fundamental theology. In 1983 he was in Bonn for a doctor of theology doctorate . Until 1988 he was a lecturer in theological education and media network at the Catholic Academy in Trier. In 1988 he was appointed head of the Department of Fundamental Questions and Church Law at the Episcopal Vicariate General in Aachen . From 1992 to 1994 he completed a post-graduate degree in canon law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster while working . In 2000 , he completed his habilitation in the subject of dogmatics in Münster .

Since 2004, Böhnke has been Professor of Systematic Theology in Catholic Theology at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . Since 2010 he has also been teaching theological basics of canon law in Münster. He is a signatory of the memorandum “ Church 2011: A Necessary Awakening ”.
