Michael Bütow

Michael Bütow (born February 26, 1966 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German television producer .

biography

After graduating from high school in Lübeck and doing community service in Munich, he gained his first professional experience in film during a year-long stay in New York. Back in Germany, he began studying the humanities at the Free University of Berlin and worked a. a. as a unit manager and assistant director on film projects.

In 1990 he moved to the University of Television and Film in Munich, where he studied production and media management until 1994 . This was followed by two years as editor-in-chief in- house production Fiction at RTL II , where the TV movie Der Sandmann was made.

From 1996 to 1998 he headed the “In-House Production German Fiction” editorial team at ProSieben . For Studio Babelsberg he then built up the Babelsberg TV branch and produced films for ProSieben and Sat.1 , and others. a. Two were struck by lightning .

From 2001 Bütow was producer and managing director of Bütow Mainusch Filmproduktion .

In 2004 he began working as editor-in-chief and head of production for RTL Group's Eastern European broadcasters, RTL Televizija in Croatia and Ren TV in Moscow. As Director of Local Production Michael Bütow was responsible for the production of locally produced fiction series and entertainment formats.

In 2008 he moved to ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, where he worked as Senior Vice President International Production with productions in Eastern Europe.

From 2011 to 2013 Michael Bütow was managing director and producer of H & V Entertainment GmbH and took over the management of the TV-movie activities within the Odeon-Film-Gruppe .

From February 2014 to mid-2017, Michael Bütow worked as a producer and head of fiction production activities for mecom fiction GmbH (formerly: mecom münchen GmbH).
