Michael Bemben , Polish Michał Bemben , (born January 28, 1976 in Ruda Śląska ) is a former German - Polish football player .
Career
Bemben grew up in Zabrze and joined Górnik Zabrze at the age of nine . After four years he moved to Bönen in the Ruhr area . There he played for two years at SpVg Bönen , from which he moved to the neighboring Hammer SpVg in 1991 . There he made the leap into the men's team. In 1995 Bemben joined the second team at VfL Bochum ; three years later he was promoted to the first team of VfL, for which he played 65 Bundesliga and 56 second division games until 2005 and scored three goals. With the Bochum team he reached fifth place in the Bundesliga in 2003/04. At that time, however, he was no longer part of the team and left the club in the direction of Rot-Weiss Essen after the next season, after which VfL was relegated . In Essen he rose to the second division in his first season; a year later, he was relegated back to the regional league .
Bemben then followed his former Essen trainer Uwe Neuhaus and joined the then northern regional division 1. FC Union Berlin at the beginning of the 2007/08 season . With the club he qualified for the new third professional league at the end of the season . After the 2008/09 season there was promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the second division season 2009/10 , his performance was no longer constant and he only came to 21 games. Because of this and because he was one of the oldest players in the squad at 34, his contract term was not extended after the season.
For the 2010/11 season he returned to his youth club Górnik Zabrze, who had recently been promoted to the Ekstraklasa . In three seasons he came to 68 missions and scored two goals. At the beginning of June 2013 he ended his active career for the time being because of persistent knee problems.
A short time later he returned to Germany, kept fit at KFC Uerdingen 05 and auditioned for Wuppertaler SV . He revised his decision to end his career and signed a contract with the Wuppertal team on July 23, 2013. However, a job-related time restriction caused him to terminate his contract on December 31, 2013. In the summer of 2014, he joined the district league club SC Union Bergen and moved to FC Frohlinde in the second half of the 2014/15 season . Here he ended his active career in the summer of 2015.
In the 2017/18 season Bemben was coach of FC Altenbochum III in the district league B.
