Michael Butz (born December 25, 1965 ) is a former German soccer player . The three years younger brother of Stefan Butz played a Bundesliga game for Arminia Bielefeld in the 1984/85 season .

career

The junior player, who has been trained by Arminia Bielefeld in the youth team since 1978, was taken over into the DSC Bundesliga squad together with teammate Jörg Weber from the amateur team before the 1984/85 season . In addition to the two homegrown ones, Franco Foda , Siegfried Reich , Stefan Pater , Jörg Breski and Thomas Helmer joined the team of coach Gerd Roggensack . Furthermore, Ronald Borchers was signed up for the current round. The young player Butz came on the 9th match day, October 20, 1984, in a 3: 3 home draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach for his only Bundesliga appearance. He came on in the 77th minute for attacker Matthias Westerwinter . Bielefeld played in the course of the round to stay in the league and finished 16th at the end of the round. After the two relegation games in June 1985 against 1. FC Saarbrücken (0: 2, 1: 1), the Armines were relegated to the 2. Bundesliga. Michael Butz was an amateur in the 2nd league squad in 1985/86, but was never used.

Later Butz played in the amateur field for SpVgg Fichte Bielefeld .
