life and career

Chaves grew up in Los Angeles , Southern California , and by that time he was already a huge fan of horror films. To do this, he began working on various short films and web series. In 2016 he released the short film The Maiden , which was awarded in the category Best Super Short Horror Film at the Shriekfest 2016 . A week after he published The Maiden online, he received an offer to direct Llorona's Curse , which he finally accepted after meeting New Line . After the Chaves-directed music video for Billie Eilish's song Bury a Friend was released at the end of January 2019 , Llorona's Fuch celebrated its premiere in March of the same year . As early as October 2018, it was announced that he would also direct Conjuring 3 . Furthermore, he should work in the same role for a still untitled horror thriller produced by Michael Bay .

Chaves has two children, who are three years old in age, and were born in the mid-2010s. By his own admission, he's a huge fan of films from the 1990s and early 2000s.
