Conjuring 3 (Original title: The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It ) is an upcoming American horror film by director Michael Chaves from 2021. It is a sequel to Conjuring from 2013 and Conjuring 2 from the year 2016, which takes place within the Conjuring universe .

In June 2017 it was announced that a third Conjuring film would be released to be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick . Even James Wan will be involved in the film, but not as director. Peter Safran , one of the producers of the film, announced in an interview in September 2018 that the script had been finalized and that filming could begin in 2019.
In October 2018, Michael Chaves was finally hired for the director's chair, who will previously direct the horror film Llorona's Curse produced by Wan . Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are to be seen again in the roles of the demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren . Wilson said of the film that it would be different from anything anyone has seen before. Farmiga added that the film is going to be huge, which is why it was good for her to get back into her role in preparation for Annabelle 3 . Even Steve Coulter to the role of Father Gordon after the two previous films and Annabelle 3 take over again. As announced in late August 2019, Mitchell Hoog and Megan Ashley Brown will play young versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren . The plot should no longer revolve around a haunted house, as in the previous parts, and should be set in the eighties. Instead, the film is said to be about a man accused of murder in court who testifies to be possessed by a demon. A werewolf should also be part of the story. Joseph Bishara will act as composer for the film music .
Filming began on June 3, 2019 in Atlanta under the direction of cameraman Michael Burgess . In mid-July the film was shot for a day in Newnan at the Coweta County Courthouse . Photographs were taken on August 1st and 5th in Fayetteville and on August 15, 2019 at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, the largest civil cemetery in the southeastern United States. Shooting officially ended a day later.
On December 8, 2019, the official original title The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It was revealed. The subtitle is a reference to "The-Devil-Made-Me-Do-It-Case" by the Warrens from 1981, in which attorney Attorney Martin Minnella alleged in a Brookfield court that his client was the murderer accused Arne Cheyenne Johnson, would have been obsessed during the act and therefore pleaded for an acquittal. On the same day, the first images were presented at the Comic Con Experience in São Paulo . The film was originally scheduled to release in US cinemas on September 11, 2020. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic , however, the US launch date was postponed to June 4, 2021.
