Lorraine Rita Warren (born January 31, 1927 in Bridgeport , Connecticut - † April 18, 2019 in Monroe , Connecticut) was an American demonologist and self-appointed medium who investigated many paranormal cases with her husband Ed Warren . She also wrote books about her experiences and experiences.

Life

She and her husband started looking for haunted houses at an early age in order to then draw them. One of these houses was the Ocean Born Mary House , which later became known through its investigations. Ed Warren and his wife were the leading " haunted researchers " in the United States for over three decades, giving lectures on psychological subjects at colleges and universities , including in 1972 at the West Point Military Academy . Her most famous investigations were those of the Amityville Horror House and the Annabelle doll. The Warrens also had their own occult museum in their home. Inside were items that they took away from the places they examined.

Film adaptations

Some cases of the parapsychologists served as models for various films of the Conjuring universe . Ed and Lorraine were played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga .
