Michael Costigan is an American film producer .

Life

Michael Costigan studied at Brown University in Providence , Rhode Island , where he graduated in 1990. From 1992 to 2001 he was for Sony Pictures Entertainment as Vice Chairman ( Executive Vice President worked). In 2001 he founded his own production company Corduroy Films . In 2014 he was Executive Producer of Ang Lee's film Brokeback Mountain .

From 2005 to 2012 he was President of Ridley Scott Associates (RSA) , a UK company that produced motion pictures and television films. In 2012 he gave up his positions at Ridley Scott and founded the production company COTA Films to work exclusively as a producer. In 2013 he and COTA signed a two-year deal with Sony.

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year .
